Meet Dr. Yamuna Suvira

Dr. Suvira was born in a small, rural village in Goa. She started learning about Ayurveda in her childhood from her grandmother, and was always interested in nature. As her grandmother was a trained nurse, Dr. Suvira also learnt about how to deliver babies, including the use of local herbs.

She was interested in natural medicine and chose to become an Ayurvedic Physician after the completion of her basic studies. She finished her 51/2 Ayurvedic Degree course and internship from G.A.M.R.C College, Shiroda Goa in January 2003. Dr. Suvira graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (B.A.M.S.) and is a qualified Ayurvedic Physician.

After completing this course, she trained for four years in Allopathic medicine, conducting baby deliveries and providing Panchakarma treatments. For over a decade, Dr. Suvira has been running the Ayurvedic Clinic at Ashiyana Goa. She uses her knowledge of both allopathic and Ayurvedic medicines to better understand the patient so that she can diagnose and offer the most appropriate treatment.
