What to expect

The journey to motherhood can feel overwhelming, leaving you caught between hope and despair. Do you ever feel like you’re in a holding pattern, while everything else seems to move forward? Each month may bring a fluctuation of emotions such as hope, excitement and at times brings newstrong waves of disappointment, and it can feel like you’re running on empty, trying to recharge just to keep going. You may even feel frustrated with yourself and your body, questioning why it’s not happening. The emotional ups and downs are draining, and you may feel like you’re walking this path alone.

Whether you’ve just started trying, have been on this journey for years, or are navigating a medical process, we understand the physical and emotional challenges you face.This retreat is designed to provide a safe space where you can begin to reconnect with yourself. By nurturing your body, mind, and spirit, you’ll find the support needed to move forward with renewed strength.

Sample of daily schedule

Each day is designed to support you on your journey with a balance of activities like yoga, guided workshops and group discussions. We focus on both practical tools as well as self-reflection to help you reconnect with your body and mind. In a supportive environment, you’ll have the opportunity to relax, recharge, and gain clarity on your path forward. Here’s what a typical day looks like:

  • Morning: Start with a calming yoga session followed by a healthy breakfast to energize your body.
  • Late Morning: Join a deep-dive workshop focusing on emotions, fears, or fertility topics.
  • Afternoon: Enjoy a light, nourishing lunch and participate in a practical workshop (e.g., journaling or cooking for hormone health).
  • Evening: Wind down with a delicious dinner, followed by a soothing evening program such as Yoga Nidra or a guided meditation.

About Esther, Experience expert and organizer
On my own journey to motherhood, with a deeply rooted desire for a child, I have experienced both hope and despair. The desire for a child is always there, and at times it feels like life is on pause, waiting to move forward until that wish is fulfilled. The past few years have been filled with ups and downs, teaching me valuable lessons about caring for myself and finding the strength to keep going despite the pain and emptiness I sometimes feel.

After having a transformative experience during a retreat at Ashiyana, I realized how valuable it would be to create a space like this for women like me. Women who still hope for motherhood and have faith in the journey, but may need extra support and connection along the way. Sharing experiences with others, focusing on things that truly help, and discovering how much better you can feel—it became my inspiration to offer this retreat.

I want to take my own pain and turn it into something meaningful to help others, because through this journey, I’ve learned what truly makes a difference in healing and finding inner peace.

Charlotte

About Charlotte, Yoga teacher and organizer
Charlotte has been working at Ashiyana since 2014. She has been Teaching Yoga and offering Coaching for over 12 years; working with many individuals and corporates specialising in Stress, Burnout and Women’s Health. She is passionate about listening to the client and working with them so they can work towards healing themselves.

Charlotte came into yoga during 2007 whilst working in the city within a very stressful environment and she soon realised the benefit it had to her both physically and mentally. Her classes are about moving slowly and creatively, exploring the power of the breath, accepting the fluctuations of emotions, and connecting to the inner wisdom of our body. She also loves to incorporate ancient sounds from Gongs and Singing Bowls during classes.

Charlotte is also a Massage Therapist (Thai Yoga, Osteo-Thai, Pregnancy, Abdominal, Indian Head and Reiki). She has been studying holistic bodywork for the last 15 years having experienced severe neck and back pain borne from an accident and perpetuated by a fast-paced lifestyle. She never underestimates the power of touch.
